Some new places to check out Thursday, Nov 29 2007

Well, with most of our core raid group being now between 73 and 75, raid leader thought that it would be nice to check out some new zones in EoF that we had not been able to consider before.

So – Tuesday and Wednesday  found us raiding MMIS and Emerald Halls.

Well we died a lot – but I really dont think anyone minded at all.  It was nice to have new scenery, new mobs and to be checking it all out together as a group.   The xp debt is slightly annoying and so is the huge repair bills, but meh all good fun.

One funny moment we had was in MMIS.  MT calls and lets us know mob is incoming – the defiler and I ward him up and I cast sanctuary and then – splat a very very dead MT getting hit for like 17K worth of damage lol.

Oh and I do have to say that the mobs in EH are more than just annoying with their stupid debuffs – I am gonna have a look and see if there is a way we can help that or else I need to write a macro to constantly re-buff at least MT cos he looses loads of health if he looses my buffs.

Last night then I continued on with my guildmates towards completeing SoD.  We had a great time running around.  Killy was the only healer – some combats I dont know how the heck I managed to keep the MT up lol but managed to end the night with only one death.  Now we have only one page left to go and then I believe it is on to some named.

Killy earned herself around 25% xp and around 50% toward her next aa with that little romp through CMM last night so not altogether unhappy with that hehe.

I think today I shall spend a we bitty of time crafting to get to 76 jeweler.  Looking forward to scribing the recipes for the fire emerald jewelery.

As always – happy hunting all 🙂

Weekend funtime Tuesday, Nov 27 2007

Well yet another weekend of fun both in and out of game.

Out of game I am loving being close to my family again.  The oodles of dogs in the family make life such a pleasure.  They are so full of personality and really make a house into a home.  The newest addition to the fur baby family is only 20 weeks old so a bundle of fun and he wears out all the others!

In game the last couple of days has been pretty cool.  Killy has been working on her SoD with some guildies – nice xp and some aa.  In addition, I have been working some quests in KP, TG and Highton.  Not to mention a few in Fens.   I am loving that a lot of the quests are solo in the xpansion.  Even Killy can do them as a templar with awful dps – even if it is slow slow slow – and did I mention slow 🙂

Our regular Sunday nite raid was scheduled for Labs.  Worked quite well cos Killy had her Claymore updates for labs that she needed so wuwu – but DOH.  Our poor MT who is also raid officer was getting moaned at from all directions because people didn’t want to do labs again.  I got quite grumpy because I think we should stick to the raid schedule, not to mention that we have a whole bunch of new recruits in the guild who would have benefited from a run thru labs.  I also thought it was poor form that some of the guild officers openly did not support the raid officer – but I guess that is what happens when you have more than 2 people together – there will always be differences of opinion.

Anyhow, we ended up going to the Throne of New Tunaria which was kinda fun.  I dont remember that we had ever been there before so that was cool.  We checked things out and hopefully can have a bit of fun there.

As well as all this adventuring fun, Killy has been crafting hard to keep up with the scout boys levels.  Our guild is not a hard core guild at all so we dont have anyone at or near 80 yet – but MT swashy and briggand are both 75.   So today sees Kil sitting at 73 Templar, 75 Jeweler and 110aa.  Not a bad effort considering I have not been very focused in game and had a pretty slow start with all the busyness in real life with moving house.

Killy is also plum out of crafting vitality so I jumped across to Chalithra to do some carpenter levels.  Got her about 3 which was pretty neat.  Bring it on for all the pretty decorations for Killys Hall 🙂  It is coming on slowly but surely.  Once I get Killy to 80, I reckon I will get my little Fury girl doing some more adventuring.

So enough burbling on for today – off to have some quality time with the fur babies 🙂  As always happy hunting all!

Killy is back!!! Friday, Nov 23 2007

I guess it has been some 2 weeks or so since I last blogged eh. Real life has had me a very very busy little dwarf 🙂 I finished up my job in Sydney and have moved interstate to be back with my family in sunny Brisbane. Getting all settled in now so hopefully life can resume to its normal fun and goodness.

Although I have not been updating my Blog, I have still been playing some, and very much enjoying some new content.

So Killy now finds herself as a lvl 72 Templar, Level 73 Jeweler with 107aa. So far I have completed around 50 quests from Kylong Plains and a few from Fens too. I am going to make sure that I pick up all of those quests on KP and get them done while they are still coloured up for my girl.

Very exciting last night, the guild dinged level 61. I know that there will be a whole bunch of guilds that are already well on their way to 80, but it is a fantastic achievement for our little guild.

I was not on Beta for the expansion, so my very first glimpse was probably 2 days after launch when I logged in for the first time after my move. So what were my first impressions? Well they were overwhelmingly positive to tell you the truth.

I like that the quests are quite achievable solo. It is still quite feesible to group up and scoot through the quests more quickly, but I like that there is so much for solo players too. I like that the quest rewards are quite pretty – in fact I have already replaced a piece or 2 of Killys gear. However I do find the xp progression to be quite slow. I suppose the reason for this is that you dont want people scooting through to level 80 in two days and then get bored with things, but 2% for quest turn ins feels pretty slow.

My other main impression is that the graphics feel like they are becoming more stylised. The one area that really gave me that impression was the Yetti’s and the entrance into TG – reminded me very much of the Dwarven starting area in that other mmo *grins*

So all in all – a busy few weeks, but glad to be getting back into a routine:) Looking forward to catchin up with more of my in game friends.

Return to the Big T Thursday, Nov 1 2007

Last night saw us head back to DT in order to take down Tarinax for a few of our guildmates to complete Claymore.

After embarrasing myself and accidentally clicking to lead the raid into the zone early (oops *blush*) we got on with the work at hand.

We did have some issues with aggro controll for some of the fights, and some combats were a bit messy – but such is life I guess.

Our MT got himself a new shiny toy to play with – a very pretty looking axe which procs hate gain.  There was no question who should have had it when it dropped, and he was a happy camper.

In pretty short order we got our way down to Tarinax.  We had a bit of an issue with some naughy worms popping at a very bad time, but a few folks had some miracles available that prevented us from having to fight our way back down.

I was pretty pleased with myself when we also managed to stop the troll hacking the party to shreds after being charmed by the stupid eyeball at the top of the wall half way into the zone.   I called on my defiler colleage to spam a few cure arcanes too and we got things sorted quick smart.

Anyhow – to cut a long story short – Tarinax handed us another whoopin when we got to him 😦  But you know what – I dont really care.  We had a bit of a laugh with the guildies and caused a bit of chaos.  What more could one want?

 Happy Halloween everyone!!
