Well – it is not difficult to guess what my post today is all about.
I have been thinking a little bit about whether or not I should betray my girl to Inquis. Why have I been thinking about it??? That is a good question 🙂
I have previously mentioned that one of my good friends in guild has a 70 Inquis. His Inquis girl (Verity) does darn good dps, and is a darn good healer to boot.
Yesterday in a 2 group raid we had 4 Templars at one point – until one of the guys swapped to his Brigand. Verity is the only inquis we have in guild, and is an Alt of the raid MT. I have seen verdict in action and I like it 🙂
On the negative side – I would loose my Sanctuary and Stoneskin, loose my Wis/str buff, and loose the very handy spell that casts a nice group heal when the enemy mob dies.
If I do decide to betray, it will be at the time of the new expansion so I do not have to replace all the spells and gear I have just upgraded. In the meantime, I will continue to have a lot of fun as a Templar.
betraying just feels hard to me, because the new class your going to play might not play like your old one and you might not enjoy it as much. I don’t know many be it me, but i wouldn’t betray a character, i got that high unless i didn’t like the class i was currently playinig
I hear you Ogrebears – It would not be a difficult decision if you didn’t enjoy your current class.
I really enjoy playing Templar and think they are a great healing class. I just wonder what it would be like to have that extra dps too – although I guess that then means that there are some compromises to be made in other areas – maybe their heals cost more power, maybe they have longer cooldowns, maybe they have even longer cast times.
See that is what is so cool about this game – even similar classes have a very different experience. Every class has its strengths and a valuable role to play IMHO.
Being the Queen of Betrayal, so to speak, I think betraying (done for the right reasons) is a good thing. It’s a fresh outlook on your character and some times makes the game look newer. Of course it’s *REALLY* hard to give up masters and spells and start from scratch. Heals are all the same. Same cast times, same cool downs. It’s just harder to dps + heal. I have to ease up on healing if I want to dps. Inquis don’t have sanctuary. They don’t have the blessings aa line, that sort of stuff.
It does strike me how much we invest in our little online avatars – and not just time 🙂
Because this is my game – my recreation, my passion, my fun – I will be making sure that any decision will be made for the right reasons.
After talking to Stargrace in game, I also had a lovely chat with 2 of my friends from guild who also encouraged me to make my decision based on what I like to do and play.
